Optor L Ultra 2023

The release of OptorL Ultra brings many new features. The most interesting improvements for users are summarized below.

Software engine:

• official support only for Windows 10 (from version 19H1) and 11
• new graphics engine, various improvements including transparency support. It is now possible to make a mesh transparent in order to see underneath it
• high resolution texture support (also when importing supported third-party formats)
• new and more advanced meshing system, completely revised mesh generation with even more performing and optimized calculations
• graphical interface update, new graphical interface very similar to the previous one so as not to cause too much confusion to old users

Hardware:

• 5Mpx camera support (possibility to purchase or update the old Optor Lab and NeWay/NeWay+ with 5 Mpx cameras)

Scan:

• faster scanning speed, especially with the "Fast" acquisition strategy (to be activated manually in the advanced parameters during the scanning process)
• new compressed format of the scans with a weight saving of up to 90% compared to the previous version (this implies a greater speed of loading/saving of the projects and work procedure also with the CAD)
• possibility of not scanning the glossy parts by selecting the force of the intervention using the appropriate cursor located in the "live view" window. By activating this function, the scanner ignores the glossy parts (they will not be acquired) so as not to create artifacts or false scans.
• high exposure mode for particularly dark objects that can be activated with the appropriate cursor placed in the "live view" window so that very dark objects (e.g. scanbodies in dark metal) are acquired in an optimal way
• high resolution mode (only if supported by the hardware) with the new 5mpx cameras so as to detect every minimum detail
• setting of the "scan cleaning" force using the advanced parameters during the scan so as to decide how much of the dirty scan to eliminate, which on some scans could be enhanced more
• activation of the texture during acquisitions using the advanced parameters so as to freely decide whether to acquire the colours during the scan or not
• added outliers points removal filters (Outliers) in post/edit scan integration, after the acquisition and in the point cloud editing screen. It is now possible to further clean up the scan from the scattered points that compose it so as to have even more precise and reliable meshes

CAD:

• VDDS not yet supported

PLEASE NOTE:

Projects created with software versions prior to OptorL Ultra are not compatible with the new version and cannot be loaded.

All Optor Lab and Neway+ models can receive the "Ultra" software update. Please note that the optimal performance declared is strictly correlated with the PC in use.
